Early Years (2 to 6 year olds) Wrap Around Provision

Supporting little learners from morning to evening with fun, care, and creativity

Mini Kids, our Early Years wrap around provision is based in our purpose-built Nursery and run by our nursery staff. It offers a warm, welcoming space where children can explore, play, and grow. Through exciting, child-led activities, we create a safe and inclusive environment that supports curiosity and creativity.

At Mini Kids, every child is valued, supported, and inspired to shine. Children can relax and enjoy time with friends through a variety of fun and engaging activities such as puzzles, play dough, construction, role play, and exploring books. We make full use of our wonderful outdoor space, giving children the chance to play outside every day.

This is via the Caterpillar nursery door, which is between the main school reception and nursery door. There is a Mini Kids sign on it.

Timings

Breakfast sessions run from 7.30am until the start of nursery/reception and afternoon sessions run from 3pm to 6pm. Our Mini Kids are mainly cared for in our nursery setting; all our children are dropped off and picked up from their classrooms by a member of the kids club team.                                 

                                   

Food & Drink

Breakfast is served from 7.30am-8.30am and the children always have a choice of toast with various spreads, a selection of cereals, yoghurts, fruit and orange or apple juice.

The after-school session has “snack time” at approx. 4pm; this is not a large main meal but a substantial snack such as beans on toast, pasta, muffin pizza. There are also different types of fruit offered each day.

Children can choose between water and milk to drink. Water is always available for the children to access.

We have recently been re-certified (Nov 25) with our 5 star hygiene award.

MINI KID Charges

All charges are issued on the Famly App. Invoices are sent via the app at the beginning of each month and should be cleared by the end of the month.

Prices 2025-2026

• Breakfast sessions are
  • 7.30am £7.80 per child
  • 8.00am £7.30 per child
  • 8.30am £3.65 (this is an early nursery drop off only and does not include breakfast)
• After school sessions are
  • 5pm pick up £10.40 per child
  • 6pm pick up £15.10 per child

Please note there is a charge for any child collected after their pickup time as detailed below.

• When a child is not collected on time, a charge of £5.00 will be made for each 5 minutes late.
• Anything over 15 minutes, an additional £10 will be charged.
• These charges will be added to your invoice.   

Payment

Invoice are applied via our Famly app at the beginning of each month with payments due by the end of that month. 

Payments can be made by Famly via debit card or by confirmed funding codes/vouchers.

Getting Hold of Us

During school hours, private messages can be sent on Famly (our Early Years app) to our Mini Kids staff or via the main school office on 01235 764822. For less urgent enquiries/notifications, please email us at nursery@mbk.cambrianlt.org

Mini Kids and Kids Club (our wraparound provision for older children) has a mobile phone which is on during our breakfast & after school club hours: 7.30am-8.30am & 3pm-6pm. This should be used for urgent messages such as informing us about non-attendance, a different person picking up etc. The number is 07500 095722.
